Nutrition and Early Childhood Development

In South Africa 3 in every 10 children are stunted due to inadequate nutrition (UNICEF, 2020). Not only does stunting affect physical and cognitive growth but it is regarded as having potentially lifelong impacts on learning and development.  Given the scale of this issue and its associated impact on education outcomes, we are focused on playing a leading role in addressing food insecurity and improving foundation phase education with our partners FoodForwardSA and Hope Worldwide.

Community Support and Disaster Relief

In addition to working to combat food insecurity, in 2014 we partnered with Gift of the Givers, Africa’s largest emergency relief aid organisation, to support communities in times of need. Our extensive network of facilities, logistics infrastructure and wide product assortment make us well positioned to provide rapid and effective first responder emergency relief aid.

Through our partnership with Gift of the Givers we have, over the last seven years, provided emergency relief across South Africa, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Malawi and Nigeria.
